Detection of Metal Ion by Ion Chromatography

INQUIRY

Alfa Chemistry's ion chromatography service can measure more than 50 metal ions including alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals and rare earth metals. We have always been at the forefront of the industry, insisting on the introduction of matching detection methods with ion chromatography, and strive to provide customers with the most accurate detection services.

Introduction

Detection on chromatography has unique advantages in analyzing the valence and form of metal ions. Combined with an appropriate detection system, various metal ions can be determined. Anion, cation and chelation chromatography can be used to analyze metal ions.

  • Cation Exchange Chromatography
  • The pure cation exchange mechanism is only suitable for the separation of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal ions. When cation exchange chromatography is used in conjunction with a conductivity detector, there are two modes of suppression and non-suppression.

  • Anion Exchange Chromatography
  • Ion exchange chromatography not only provides a wider choice for the determination of metal ions, and reduces the problem of metal ion hydrolysis, but also can be used for the determination of metal ions in which the sample itself is the matrix of the complex. Anion exchange chromatography can be used to analyze anionic complexes formed with oxalate, cyanide, chloride and other ligands; lanthanide ions; some metal oxyacid ions ((such as hexavalent chromium oxyacid Ions, tungstate, molybdate, etc.).

  • Chelation chromatography
  • Chelation chromatography can be used to determine trace metal ions in complex matrices. The exchange mechanism is the formation of coordination bonds between the metal ions and the coordination groups on the stationary phase. The chelating ion exchanger is permanently or dynamically coated on the alkyl silica gel or organic copolymer through chemical bonding or hydrophobic effect to obtain the chelating ion chromatography stationary phase. Commonly used chelating ion exchangers include iminodiacetic acid type chelating agent (IDA), aminomethyl phosphonic acid, amino acids, various azo dyes and so on.
